What to make?

I've decided to enter the One Hundred One Page Games Jam, in which I need to mashup two of Grant Howitt's one-page games to make something new.

If I've done my sums correctly, there are 4950 possible combinations, so rather than ponder all of them, I'm going to roll some dice to generate five potential games, post my initial thoughts, then pick one to develop further. Well, I say 'pick one', let's see how it goes, I might end up working on two or three of them (if I have time).

Shut up and roll!

19 + 72 =  The Beast   &  This one Time at Bard Camp

26 + 79 =  Tramforce  &  Christmas is Coming

72 + 83 =  This One Time at Bard Camp  &  Miracle Workers

86 + 57 = Pub Crusade  &  Cluedon't

08 + 85 = Justified Anxiety  &  There But For The Geese of God

The Beast x This One Time at Bard Camp

Okay, so we've got a monster that you need to stop and a bunch of teens at a campsite. Naturally, my first thought is Friday 13th.

Can I come up with something more original than that? How about if the PCs are very much focused on partying, relationships, sex, having a great summer, and the stalker is more of an annoyance?

Tramforce  x  Christmas is Coming

Interesting combo to roll, considering Tramforce came with a Christmas scenario. Guess that means it's going to be about that time of year, then.

Beyond that, we have power-armoured cops in dystopian Britain, plus being trapped in a rural folk horror village.

I'm tempted to continue the satire of Tramforce, and have the PCs be fascist Judge Dredd types and the villagers be normal people that have turned memories of democracy and freedom into a cargo cult.

This One Time at Bard Camp  x  Miracle Workers

Okay, so back to the D&D equivalent of summer camp, but this time paired with reclaiming corpses of adventurers for the necromancers guild. Not such an obvious combo.

However, they're both set in something like a D&D-style fantasy world.

Maybe it's not a summer camp, maybe it's a corporate retreat for training and team-building, but the corporation is the Guild of Necromancers. You're still bottom-rung employees, but rather than dealing with the dangers of dungeons, you're dealing with the dangers of your boss and the HR department.

Pub Crusade  x  Cluedon't

I'd forgotten *Pub Crusade* was set in the *Spire* (from the RPG of the same name, also by Grant). Anyway, it's basically a violent pub crawl. We're mixing that with a Cluedo hack.

Lets take a bit from each:  a murder mystery, where the investigation happens during a pub crawl. Not sure how that'll work, but I've said it now.

Justified Anxiety  x  There But For The Geese of God

A one-page version of *Paranoia*, mixed with angelic geese pushing an unwilling man towards sainthood?

Part of me is thinking everyone is a candidate for some holy office (Pope?) but doesn't want it. Part of me is thinking it's *Paranoia*, except fragments of the Computer are pushing one poor citizen into becoming the saviour of Alpha Complex.

Right, I'm going to let that sit for a bit, then pick one.

Catch you next time!
